Colombia’s Caribbean tourism hotspot San Andres reopened its airport Thursday morning after the passing of Hurricane Otto.
Authorities on San Andres closed the airport and ordered the closure of beaches, limited use of motor vehicles and sports venues while recommending that both residents and tourists stay indoors until the storm passed.
While the passing of the hurricane did cause major waves and extreme rainfall, it left no significant damage and no injuries on the Caribbean island.
At 7AM on Thursday, aviation authorities reopened the airport after Otto had moved towards Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
