Colombia have not been able to impress in an international friendly with South Africa this Thursday, losing 2-1 in a game that was entirely decided by penalties.
Although Colombia failed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup, the team did play a friendly against tournament hosts South Africa in Johannesburg.
South Africa opened the scoring after 17 minutes as Modise Teko converted the first penalty of the match. His first attempt was actually saved but the spot-kick was repeated due to an irregularity.
Colombia equalised three minutes later as Giovanni Moreno hit the target from the penalty spot.
But the hosts had the final say as they were handed another penalty in the 57th minute, this time with Mphela Katlego beating keeper Ospina for 2-1.
