Colombia’s Education Minister Maria Fernando Campo announced that the ministry intends to provide higher education for victims of violence, local media reported Tuesday.
The ministry of education has presented an investment plan for an education fund to Colombia’s National Planning Department and is currently waiting to obtain resources for the fund, which is intended to start serving serving 4,500 students in 2013.
According to Campo the ministry wants to invest in the fields of technical, technological and vocational education in order to promote access, retention and graduation for those affected by violence.
