Colombian health authorities raised the number of patients carrying the
AH1N1 virus, or swine flu, to 45 on Monday. One new case was confirmed
in Itagui, Antioquia, and two in Tunja, Boyaca.
The three patients, all adults, are treated at home and are allowed no visitors.
Since the break out of the virus, Colombian authorities issued an
alert for possible swine flu in 1,250 cases. 193 people are considered
“suspicious cases” because of symptoms that resemble that of AH1N1.
The
confirmed cases are in Bogota (12, including one deadly), Yopal (9),
Cali (6), Barranquilla (6), Medellin (5), Tunja (2), Zipaquira (1), Guatape (1),
Cartagena (1), Bucaramanga (1) and Itagui (1).
