Latin Grammy Award winning Colombian singer, Fonseca will spread a positive ‘promote’ Colombian message when he kicks off his World Illusion Tour in the U.S. on April 11.
The Bogota born singer will begin his tour in Dallas, Texas on April 11 and travel throughout the United States until the end of May, promoting his fourth album “Illusion” while also acting as an ambassador to his country.
“I am excited that on my Illusion World Tour I will carry the message of Colombia from the Brand Colombia [markets a positive image of the country] to the United States. I am very proud of my country and I’m honored to be its ambassador,” stated Fonseca.
Fonseca’s country campaign will be sponsored by the Colombian government and private companies with further support from the country’s primary airline, Avianca, and Brand Colombia.
The performances will begin with promotional videos of the country “so that people can see wonderful images of Colombia and invite others to visit.”
“When I am outside of my country I always try to invite people to get to know Colombia, to get to know what Colombians are like. I believe that music is a sample of what Colombia is like as a country and how its people are,” explained the singer.
His “Illusion” album has been a huge success since it was released in 2011, and it earned him a Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical/Fusion album in 2012. His single titled, “Que no estas” or “What you are not” remained in the top 10 on the Billboard Tropical list for six consecutive weeks.
