Colombian police Tuesday captured the nephew of the leader of the neo-paramilitary group “Los Urabeños”.
According to reports, Luis Fernando Usuga Arango, also known as “H20,” was arrested in the northwestern Uraba region’s Turbo municipality in the company of his wife. Apparently, he did not have bodyguards with him at the moment of arrest.
Usuga Arango was considered the leader of the organization’s armed wing in the region, with some 200 men under his command.
Police said the presumed neo-paramilitary is the nephew of Dairo Antonio Usuga David, alias “Otoniel,” the top commander of Los Urabeños and one of Colombia’s most wanted drug traffickers.
Usuga Arango had arrest warrants for homicide, displacement and forced disappearance.
Los Urabeños, also known as the “Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia,” is a neo-paramilitary group from the north of Colombia involved in drug trafficking and illegal gold mining.
