The prosecution announced on July 1 it is investigating Medina for possible ties to rebel group ELN, after a Bucaramanga lawmaker accused her of being involved in kidnapping.Medina’s lawyer claims Medina simply was a victim of the crime, but the lawmaker accuses Medina of speaking to the kidnappers in a commanding tone and seemed connected to them. The Supreme Court sentenced Medina to 3,5 years of house arrest and demanded of Inpec to transfer her house, so she can begin serving her time.In a letter to the Court, Inpec director, general Eduardo Morales Beltran refuses to transfer Medina pending the kidnapping investigation and threatened to take legal steps against the Supreme Court if it decided to enforce a transfer to her home.
