The Colombian government is pressuring Congressmen to vote in favor
of the referendum needed for the re-election of President Alvaro Uribe,
German Vargas Lleras, leader of coalition party Cambio Radical said
Thursday.
In an interview with Caracol Radio, the former Senator and current presidential candidate said some of his party members had been called to the presidential Palace and were pressured to vote in favor of the re-election, despite the party’s opposition to the 2010 re-election of Uribe.
The presidential hopeful would not say who had been pressured and how the lawmakers were pressured.
