Colombia’s second largest guerrilla group ELN is willing to resume
talks about peace with the Government, Bishop Leonardo Gómez Serna said
Wednesday.
According to the bishop, several ELN leaders sent messages to the Catholic Church in the north of Colombia to seek a dialogue, sit down and look for a way towards national reconciliation.
“There has been some contact with some leaders of the ELN. We are looking into ways, looking when we realize a rapprochement,” the hierarch told Caracol Radio.
The bishop added “there is positivism in some sectors and we are ready to continue the search for peace in Colombia.”
