Colombia’s Prosecutor General’s Office Wednesday ordered one army
colonel and nine soldiers to appear before court for their alleged
responsibility in a 2005 massacre.
The ten are suspected of having collaborated with paramilitaries that murdered five adults and three children in San José de Apartadó, an Antioquia peace community.
The colonel and soldiers are accused of murder of protected persons, barbaric acts and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The Attorney General had urged the Prosecution to indict the members of the armed forces earlier this month when it became known that the Prosecution had failed to indict the suspects four months after their arrest.
