The Colombian Army destroyed seven cocaine processing labs Saturday in a sweep of several municipalities across the country.
Colombian soldiers operating in the southern department of Putumayo seized three coca laboratories, while others were shut down in Cauca, Cordoba, and Caqueta.
In Putumayo, the army confiscated 240 gallons of gasoline, 160 gallons of diesel fuel, 330 pounds of cement, 1,268 pounds of coca leaves, 48.5 pounds of lime used for releasing the active chemicals in the leaf, and two scales.
At the same time in the town of La Vega in the southwest department of Cauca, 275 pounds of coca leaves were also seized.
In the northern department of Cordoba, 220.5 pounds of coca leaves were discovered in a laboratory, and two processing centers were raided in the southwest Caqueta department.
Colombia has continued to see a decrease in coca cultivation in recent years, however, the processing of the plant has remained steady.
