According to local media, the ministry will be touring ten colonial towns that make part of the Country’s Heritage Towns Network and are considered the “jewels” of Colombia’s cultural heritage.
The ten towns, all in the northern half of Colombia, were chosen “because of what they mean for Colombia’s tradition and the happiness of the Colombian people,” Trade Minister Sergio Diaz-Granados said at the relaunch of the program that was initially started in 2010.
To stimulate tourism to the towns, vice-Minister of Tourism Oscar Rueda promised a 4×4 car to anyone who visits five of the ten towns.
