Alleged rebels of the FARC burnt two regional buses just south of the Colombian capital Bogota on Saturday.
According to mayor Reinere de los Angeles Jaramillo of Sumapaz, the rural locality bordering urban Bogota in the south, guerrillas of the FARC 53rd front ordered the passengers to leave the buses before the vehicles were set on fire.
The mayor told Caracol Radio all passengers were allowed to leave and nobody got hurt.
It’s the second time within two months the FARC is accused of attacking public transport vehicles. On November 20, six people died when alleged guerrillas set fire to a bus in the southern Nariño department while it still had passengers on board.
Sumapaz was militarized in October after the murder of two members of the local council.
