Colombia’s Supreme Court Thursday questioned Tomas Uribe, son of
President Alvaro uribe, about his alleged responsibility in the bribing
of Congressmen to ensure his father’s re-election in 2006.
The country’s highest judicial body wanted to Uribe to explain why the former superintendent of Notaries had accused him of having influenced the procedure to make sure notaries were given to Congressmen who had supported the constitutional change needed for the 2006 re-election.
The President’s son denied any wrongdoings and told press he is considering sueing former superintendent for false accusing him.
