Cali authorities claim they thwarted an attack on a military aviation school
in the city after seizing a truck carrying 250 kilos of explosives.
The vehicle was found ten kilometers outside the village of Yamundi, south of Cali, Cali police commander Gustavo Adolfo Ricaurte told reporters.
“We assume this is the truck we have been seeking for some time and would be used to attack the Military Aviation School Marco Fidel Suarez,” the official said. Authorities were after the explosives-filled truck for four months, Ricaurte added.
According to the authoritie, there is no doubt the country’s largest rebel group FARCare behind the planned attack.
