Colombia’s financial authority UIAF — under investigation for allegedly being part of the DAS’ illegal wiretap scandal — says it suspects some magistrates of the Supreme Court to be involved in illegal activities.
According to a statement released by the UIAF, the financial police “has analyzed reports of suspicious operations of certain persons and their possible ties to others who are linked to illegal activities where some magistrates can be seen involved.”
The UIAF says it sent results of its investigations to the Prosecutor General’s Office for further investigation.
Colombia’s financial police, the country’s intelligence service and the presidency are currently being investigated because of the alleged illegal wiretapping of government opponents, including magistrates of the country’s highest court.
