Colombia’s state-run oil company Ecopetrol was forced to suspend oil pumping in the southwest of the country Sunday after alleged FARC rebels bombed a pipeline.
According to radio station Caracol, the Transandino oil pipeline was destroyed in the municipality of Tumaco where the FARC bombed electricity towers ten days ago. Authorities have not been able to reestablish electricity in the town.
The 190-mile pipeline connects Ecuador to Tumaco’s Pacific port. Sunday’s attack is the second within a month.
