Riding high from a clean sweep at the Latin Grammys, urban music legends Calle 13 will return to Colombia, this time for a free concert in Medellin.
The Puerto Rican band, led by singer and Latino hearthrob, “Resident” aka Rene Perez, will play at the Feria de Ganados on December 6, at 8PM. The special guests of the event will be students from the Network of Music Schools in Medellin.
Calle 13 were last in Medellin on September 16, where they were able to fill an enormous bull fighting arena with dancing, screaming fans who didn’t stop moving for a second.
The band will play new tracks such as the Latin Grammy-winning “Latinoamerica,” which features legendary Colombian vocalist Toto La Momposina, and “Muerte en Hawaii,” from their latest album, “Entren los que quieren.”
Calle 13 are known for using their lyrics to make social commentary about Latin America, and lead singer Residente once made headlines in Colombia for wearing a t-shirt that declared former President Alvaro Uribe a paramilitary fighter.
