“The national authorities should move forward with the identification, prosecution and punishment of the perpetrators of this murder and express their feelings of sympathy and solidarity to the victim’s familiy and collegues,” a declaration signed by the High Commissioner of Human Rights, the UN refugee agency, the World Food Program and the office for humanitarian issues sais.Martha Cecilia Obando (45) was the leader of a displaced community living in Buenaventura, a city on the Pacific coast of Valle del Cauca and participated in several displaced rights groups.Before being murdered Sunday, Obando had filed complaints about corruption and the activity of criminal gangs in her area.A few weeks ago another displaced leader, Julio César Molina, was murdered in Valle.
