New parents Shakira and Gerard Pique have already become the subjects of an internet scandal due to the release of a photo showing their newborn riding in the front seat instead of in a car seat as Spanish road regulations mandate.
Outraged citizens from around the world quickly made their moral superiority known citing the couple for irresponsible parenting and poor example setting. Though one commenter on the Huffington Post article had a less critical response pointing out that “no car seat, that’s normal in Colombia.”
This is not the first time the couple found themselves in hot water over poor road safety practices. Shakira was called out for driving a moped sans helmet and her baby’s daddy Pique has been known to show less-than-gentlemanly fits of road rage.
Luckily, paparazzi was there to catch this example of wonton hazardry.
