Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos is leading comfortably in the first poll after his announcement to be running for a second term in the 2014 elections, said pollster Ipsos Napoleon Franco Tuesday.
The pollster measured the response to a number of possible election scenarios as a number of presumed Green Party primary candidates have yet to officially announce their candidacy.
However, in none of the possible scenarios, Santos sees his lead threatened in the poll with more than double the amount of intentional votes than his closest competitor, conservative candidate Oscar Ivan Zuluaga.
The president in none of the possible scenarios would receive less than 26% while his closest rival would not receive more than 12%
Some 25% of the polled Colombians responded that they have yet to decide on which candidate they want to vote.
