Pereira beat leaders
Deportivo Pereira, with legendary goalkeeper Higuita, had a 2-0 lead over Millonarios at the break. Vilarete opened the score at 32 minutes and converted a penalty just before half time.
Milton Rodríguez scored from a spot kick in the 53rd minute but Quintero restored the two-goal gap fourteen minutes later. Rodríguez’ goal for 3-2 in the 90th minute came too late.
Santa Fé take the lead
The other Bogotan club, Santa Fé, took advantage with a 3-2 win over Deportes Quindío. Neculman’s opening goal was cancelled out by Quindío’s Hernandez, and the visitors even took the lead through Santoya in the third minute of the second half.
But Santa Fé remained focused and turned things around through Valoyes in the 51st minute and Tolosa, who scored the winning goal with three minutes to go.
Tolima win at Cúcuta
Deportes Tolima moved into second place after their 2-1 win at Cúcuta. The Ibagué outfit have the same amount of points as Santa Fé but the latter have a better goal record.
Caceres put Tolima ahead after only three minutes but Cabrera equalised ten minutes later. Marrugo’s goal in the 27th minute, earned Tolima a valuable win.
Other action on Sunday
Junior Barranquilla surpassed Millonarios and move into third place after humilating La Equidad, 4-0. Goals were scored by Palacio (penalty), Hernández, Yanez and Gutierrez.
Atlético Huila and Once Caldas held each other to an entertaining 3-3 draw in Armenia. Alcazar, Cuellar and Valencia found the net for the hosts, while Fano, Carreño and Mena did so for the visiting side.
Envigado were held to a 1-1 draw at Deportivo Pasto but do still find themselves in seventh place after six games. Serna but Envigado in the lead after six minutes but Peralta scored from the penalty spot to level in the 67th.
