With the arrest of twelve suspected members of the Rastrojos drug gang,
Police say they solved 25 murders that took place in Barrancabermeja
the past two weeks.
According to local police commander German Perdomo, a combination of intelligence work and wiretapping led to the arrest of the suspected murderers and drug traffickers.
“With thise arrests we can solve at least 25 assassinations recently perpetrated and make sure peace returns to Barrancabermeja,” the official told Caracol Radio.
Perdomo added that the criminals had been in the city for several months and were assuming control over several illegal activities while permanently threatening the population.
