U.S. company ManTech will provide communications and coordination support to counter-narcotics operations in Colombia after being awarded a $6.2 million contract, the company reported Wednesday.
ManTech International Corporation is based in Virginia, U.S., and according to the article is a “leading provider of technologies and national security solutions.”
The company will assist military operations in Colombia by supplying a bilingual communications team, as well as supporting air operations and offering technical and security advice.
“We are proud to be selected to play a part in the U.S. counter-narcotics mission,” said Louis M. Addeo, the president and chief operating officer of ManTech’s Technical Services Group.
“Colombia is a prominent positioning point to battle the illegal drug trade that enters the United States. ManTech’s extensive experience supporting U.S. military forces overseas combined with our real-time surveillance and communications experience enables us to provide effective support to the counter-narcotics effort.”
The contract will run for an initial period of 12 months, with two additional optional years.
