German airline Lufthansa is preparing to relaunch five direct weekly flights between the Colombian capital Bogota and the German city of Frankfurt, after an eight-year absence from the Andean nation.

From October 31 Lufthansa flights will depart Bogota’s El Dorado airport Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9:45PM and arrive in Frankfurt the following day at 2:45PM local time. Return flights will depart Frankfurt at 1:30PM and arrive in Bogota at 7:25PM local time.
The German carrier will run flights with its Airbus A340-600, considered to be the world’s largest airplane, with a passenger capacity of 306. A total 238 economy class, 60 business class and eight first class seats will be available for between $1,000 and $11,000.
The airline also plans to offer connections between Colombia and other Latin American countries such as Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
Lufthansa decided to restart the Colombia-Germany route because of the growth of Bogota as a business and finance capital in Latin America.
The airline announced in May that it planned to reopen the trans-Atlantic flight, following approval by Colombian civil aviation authorities.
Lufthansa first began operating in Colombia in 1967.
