Two former FARC hostages have claimed part of the reward that the Colombian
government gave to former guerrilla ‘Rojas’ for killing FARC commander
‘Ivan Rios’ earlier this year.
The two former captives say they were abducted by Pedro Pablo ‘Rojas’ Montoya, who killed FARC commander ‘Ivan Rios’ before surrendering to Colombian authorities earlier this year.
The government gave the guerrilla US$ 1,4 million as a reward for having killed the member of the FARC secretariat and handing over crucial information about the guerrilla organization.
According to the lawyer of one of the former hostages, ‘Rojas’ received a billion peso (US$484 thousand) ransom in 2001 to release the hostage and a relative.
The hostages now demand a 1.5 billion peso compensation for their suffering.
