Colombia’s soccer star Radamel Falcao is the sixth best soccer player in the world claimed the British newspaper, The Guardian.
The English paper on Tuesday came out with their list of the 100 best players in the world and El Tigre ranks sixth, behind just Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
According to local media, the rankings were chosen by 11 expert panelists, who made a list of 30 players in order of preference and then each player was scored according to their position.
Colombia’s, James Rodriguez, also made the list at 59, ahead of such notables like David Villa and Mario Balotelli.
Falcao has stocked his trophy shelf this year, racking up awards and end-of-year honors almost weekly. El Tiempo and El Espectador, two of the largest national newspapers in Colombia, chose El Tigre as their person of the year.
Falcao is expected to be much sought after in the coming months as teams from around the world vie for his services. Real Madrid’s president jokingly hinted at signing the Colombian striker earlier this month.
