Ecuadorean justice warranted the arrest of the three survivors of the
Colombian bombing of a FARC camp in Ecuador in March. The three, now in
Nicaragua and Mexico, are suspected of”endangering internal State security.”
Mexican Lucia Morett and Colombians Doris Bohórquez and Martha Pérez were the only survivors of the March 1 bombing that killed FARC commander Raúl Reyes and 24 others.
After the bombing, the women were treated in an Ecuadorean hospital. After treatment, the three went to Nicaragua. Lucia Morett recently returned to Mexico after her country’s Attorney General assured she would not be arrested.
Ecuador says it will try to have the suspects extradited. Mexico has no extradition treaty with Ecuador and the two Colombians are enjoying political asylum in Ecuador.
