Colombian opposition senator Piedad Cordoba Saturday denied knowing the coordinates of the site where the FARC will release two soldiers they promised to set free.
According to RCN Radio, one of the hostages’ father had said the senator already knew the coordinates for the release.
Cordoba, speaking to the same radio station, denied having received any information from the guerrillas about the release.
“We are where we were at the beginning. There is nothing,” Cordoba said, who mediated numerous hostage releases in the past.
The release of the two soldiers is expected within the coming weeks following half a year of delays because the guerrillas and the government could not find agreement on the conditions of the release.
