A study by U.K. newspaper The Telegraph claimed Thursday Colombia has one of the worst national anthems in the world.
In the build up to the London Olympics, the Britain-based newspaper ran a survey of the 205 anthems that could be played at more than 800 victory ceremonies in London, only to conclude that Colombia’s national song is better left unheard.
Under a law passed in 1995, Colombia’s “Oh Unfading Glory” is broadcast on all radio and television channels at 6AM and 6PM every day.
Only North Korea, Uruguay, Greece, Spain and Algeria have worse anthems, according to the British paper.
During a time of heightened national pride, The Telegraph wisely omitted the drab “God Save The Queen” from the bottom ten.
