As Colombia moves into September, the Institute of Hydrology, Meterology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM) on Tuesday predicted yet more rain.
The rainy season, which traditionally runs from mid-September to mid-December, has come earlier this year as heavy rains have already hit the Pacific and Andean regions.
IDEAM reported that higher than average rainfalls were expected to fall over the coming months. On Tuesday they also announced on twitter that heavy rain had fallen over a selection of other regions, including the departments of Tolima [central Colombia] and Magdalena [northern Colombia].

The institute also warned that the rains could be accompanied by storms of thunder and lightning.
