Coalition party Cambio Radical sacked Representative Roy Barreras for his dissident behavior within the party.
Barreras on several occasions clashed with party leader German Vargas Lleras and fiercely supported the 2010 re-election of President Álvaro Uribe, despite the presidential aspirations of his own foreman.
It is uncertain if Barreras will now also have to leave his seat in the House or can continue as independent Representative or join another party.
According to Barreras, Cambio Radical has “expelled eight million Colombians who support the re-election of Uribe” with his dismissal.
