Presidential candidate Juan Manuel Santos has links to the companies contracted to provide logistical services during Colombia’s election, claims former candidate Gustavo Petro.
Speaking to reporters, Petro said that the Partido de la U candidate has close links to logistics company Union Temporal Distribucion Procesos Electorales 2010 (UT Disproel), which is responsible for printing and delivering ballot papers and voter cards.
According to Petro, between 2002 and 2006 Santos was a member of the board of directors for a branch of UT Disproel, which was last year contracted by the National Registry to provide services for the 2010 election.
The owners of the company are members of the Partido de la U, said the Polo Democratico former candidate.
Juan Manuel Santos came out on top during the first round of elections on May 30 and will this weekend go head-to-head with Green Party candidate Antanas Mockus in a second round election.
