Six low-intensity bombs were detonated in the south of Colombia’s capital, Bogota, reported newstation Caracol Radio on Wednesday.
The explosions, which occured in the early hours of this morning, appear to have been directed at two electricity pylons in the southern Bogota neighbourhood of Juan Rey.
There were no injuries recorded as a result of the explosions and the pylons remain undamaged and functioning although authorities are concerned that such an incident could seriously affect the energy tower located nearby.
Local police are conducting searches for those responsible.
