A 45-day-old baby was stolen from her mother in the north Colombian city of Santa Marta on Monday, reported Radio Caracol.
The 18-year old mother, Norana Paola Vergara, was at the Family Compensation Fund, when she was deceived by a 40-year old woman.
After being deceived into trusting the women, the mother agreed to copy a few documents in a shop, while the suspect watched the baby girl.
When the young mother returned, the 40-year old woman had vanished with her baby.
A security camera of a close-by supermarket chain apparently filmed when the woman escaped with the child in her
arms.
But so far the police, who have taken up the investigation, have no details of the woman’s appearance.
