The famous Saint-Petersburg State ballet troupe this April 13 and 14 will thrill dance enthusiasts with a performance of “Swan Lake” on ice in Colombia’s capital of Bogota.
Swan Lake has been adapted by countless ballet companies over its 100-year life time, but this particular production features choreography by the former Marinsky ballet star, Konstantin Rassadin, and will be performed by accomplished ballerinas from the St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice troupe.
In the 1980s, newspaper “France-Soir” named the company as “THE only virtuoso company in the world to combine classical dance and figure-skating.”
Since then the company has gone from strength to strength. Initially formed in 1967, they have taken their critically-acclaimed productions to some of the most presigious venues worldwide, including New York’s Lincoln Centre and Paris’ Opera House.
This time, Bogota’s Jorge Eliecer Gaitan theater will be transformed into a winter wonderland with artificial ice for two performances scheduled for 8PM, April 13 and 14.
Ballet fans can buy tickets priced between $33 and $88 from the venue box office, or from the “Tu Boleta” website.
