Europol announced Monday the seizure of 1.2 million euros, and 312 million pesos, in counterfeit bank notes from an illegal printing shop in Bogota.
The fake money was discovered in a joint operation between Colombian and Spanish police, and European police agency Europol, on January 27.
The money was intended for distribution in Europe, and was discovered alongside a printing machine, printing plates, and other counterfeiting materials.
A 49-year-old Colombian was arrested in the operation.
Colombia signed a co-operation agreement with Europol in 2004, and since then several joint operations have been carried out.
