A virgin reportedly appeared on the ceiling of a house in an exclusive district in Colombia’s eastern city of Cali, leading one fervent believer to buy the section of the roof from the skeptical owner.
An unidentified woman negotiated with the disbelieving owner before bringing in workers to cut out the image, which had appeared on a false ceiling constructed below the original, and take it to a nearby church, reported Canal Caracol.
Workers, who took two hours to cut down the section, reported they found no moisture above the ceiling to account for the image.
A priest of the church blessed the image, but declined to keep it within the church, which is known for its collection of curiosities.
