Colombian president Alvaro Uribe tripled the reward offered for
information leading to the capture of the FARC leader who organized the
kidnapping of councilor José Armando Acuña Molina on Tuesday night. The
reward now stands at around US$800,000.
Uribe upped the reward from the US$240,000 he offered on Sunday.
Councilor Acuña Molina was kidnapped May 29 after some ten FARC guerrillas stormed
the town of Garzon and occupied the Palace of Justice where they encountered the
victim. He was taken at gunpoint and hasn’t been heard from since.
