The stunning Miss Valle del Cauca Carmen Lucia Aldana, was crowned the new Miss Colombia at a ceremony in the northern port town of Cartagena on Monday.
Aldana was elected the new sovereign of Colombia ahead of Miss Antioquia and Miss Atlantico to take the number of titles for her department to 10.
The 20-year old student of mass communication and journalism was understandably full of emotion after the result was announced and said afterwards. “This is the award for my practice…and remember it will certainly be my degree.”
The georgeous and adorable Aldana gained the highest mark, 9.8, for the parade of the evening dress while she also scored the highest when the five finalists were asked a question from the public.
The question for Aldana was what message do you send to women who do not fee beautiful? To which she replied. “They should be accepted as they are. Trust is what is valued and self-belief. Believe in the role of women in society because we are perfect beings by nature.”
