Surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants, and street vendors, Parque de Boston is a great place to stop for a snack or sit for a drink.
Situated in the center of the park, surrounded by benches and gardens, is a statue of the General Jose Maria Cordova who fought alongside Simon Bolivar in Colombia’s War of Independence (1810-1816).
Parque de Boston is favored by locals. Paisas [people of Medellin] go there to walk their dogs, make out, or just relax in the shade. On the weekends the park turns into a bustling spot with families, vendors, and music filling the place with life.
On the third Saturday of every month is the San Alejo craft fair where you can find handmade treasures as well as delicious treats like home-made pies and jarred fruits.
To get to Parque de Boston take the Metro to Parque Berrio station. From there stroll up La Playa (Calle 52) and take a left after reaching the theater.
