On february 2nd, the FARC announced the upcoming release of Perez, Beltran and Polanco, who would be handed over to those appointed by president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez. Wednesday, France’s foreign minister said that Gréchem would join the group. Colombian intelligence expects the 56-year old Géchem to be less than 15 kilometers (9 miles) away from the other three hostages, but his health would be so poor he can’t be reunited.
