Spanish police detain two Colombians in Alicante, east Spain, after dismantling a trafficking operation that smuggled cocaine using pants saturated in the drug, W Radio reported Tuesday.
The arrests of the chemist and lab assistant, aged 37 and 47 respectively, were made on March 25. Authorities also found in the laboratory chemicals for the processing of cocaine hydrochloride along with 102 pairs of pants. Each pair is estimated to have been saturated with 200 grams of cocaine, representing a haul of 200 kilos in total.
Police also discovered 450 grams of cocaine, apparatus for handling the drug, a Russian pistol, notes on the fabrication and extraction of cocaine and 1.5 kilos of adulterating substances in three searches carried out between houses in Alicante and two nearby towns.
