The city of Cartagena is tuning up for its 5th Annual International Music Festival featuring more than 400 international music specialists, held January 6th-17th.
Estereofonica reported that activities planned for the festival include discussions on topics ranging from the Bicentennial to the Life of Mozart, with the participation of Jorge Orlando Melo, Victor Rodriguez, Ivan Benavides, Juan Antonio Cuellar, and Padre Alfonso Rincon.
There will be an art exhibition entitled “Spirit and Material” hosted by the DEIMOS Art gallery, featuring artist and architect Luis Restrepo and art schools from Santo Domingo. Works featured in the gallery will be offered for sale in order to benefit young artists.
There will also be a youth concert featuring artists selected by the festival’s director Stephen Prutsman.
Young musicians from across the nation will be able to participate in magistral classes hosted by the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra, when they are not busy giving concerts to the public.
The event will be hosted at the Institucion Bellas Artes and at Ciencias de Bolivar in Cartagena.
