Former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt and 14 other
hostages rescued from the FARC in July have been declared ‘military
targets’ by the leftist guerrilla group, Betancourt said Wednesday.
“The FARC has distributed a series of communications in which they
say we were liberated as fugitives and they consider us military
targets,” Bentancourt told W Radio from New York City. She added that she has not returned to Colombia due to the threat.
Betancourt and 14 others, including three American contractors, were
liberated July 2 in a bold military operation after six years in
captivity.
