Colombia’s Senate elected Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado as the country’s
new Attorney General. He will be replacing the departing Edgardo Maya
Villazón.
The Conservative, proposed candidate of the State Council, received the votes of a vast majority of the senators. Camilo Gómez, who was proposed by the Supreme Court received one vote and Germán Bustillo, proposed by President Uribe received zero.
The new boss of Colombia’s Public Ministry will be in office for four years.
