Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos on Wednesday offered a $27,300 reward for details on the culprits that threatened eight journalists in the north of the country.

Santos announced the reward at a Security Council meeting in the western city of Armenia, where he further vowed, “to not let the enemies of peace and land restitution get away with threats.”
In order to live up to his pledge, Santos appointed General Jorge Rodriguez Peralta to travel to the northeastern Cesar department, to lead an investigation that will hopefully lead to arrests.
The threats were made Tuesday by a neo-paramilitary group calling itself the “Anti Restitution Army” in a pamphlet delivered to the journalists in the department capital of Valledupar.
