The Colombian national team left a good impression in an international friendly this Wednesday, beating Mexico 2-1 in the city of Dallas.
The two teams met in preparation of crucial upcoming World Cup qualifiers and Colombia appeared to be the better team as Eduardo Lara’s men created most of the opportunities.
The Colombians could have gone ahead on 24 minutes after a Mexican defender handled the ball, but Jackson Martinez’ following penalty was easily saved by keeper Ochoa.
But the score was opened just before half time, when a free kick from Vladimir Marin was headed home by Giovanni Moreno.
The second goal came in the 81st minute, with Darwin Quintero scoring after a pass from Yulian Anchico.
Mexico’s Aguilar pulled one back near the full time whistle, but couldn’t prevent the Colombian victory.
