Some 200 children danced tango in Medellin Sunday to seek the Guinness
record of pairs dancing tango. The kids want to make their city the
world capital of tango.
200 children have been practicing and preparing themselves for six months to make history. The dream began to materialize in the beginning of this year, when tango dancers thought about how to keep Medellin as the world capital of tango. “The future of tango lies in the schools,” John Jairo said.
John Esteven Gomez, a 12-year-old participant, told El Espectador: “I am very happy because people come to see us. Hopefully we can achieve the Guinnes record.”
In two weeks, the organization Guiness World Records will give its verdict to the little dancers.
