The Colombian Senate website was blocked Tuesday by hackers under the name Anonymous Colombia.
According to the group’s Twitter account, the attack was in protest of the Law of 201, a provision of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which seeks to strengthen intellectual property rights.
“Internet is a fundamental medium for people where everything is possible and where all are free and equal,” Anonymous Colombia posted on their Twitter account.
In a series of posts today, the group specifically attacked the Interior Minister German Vargas Lleras for his role in including the copyright clause in the FTA legislation.
